Full-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry
Holy Family Catholic Church is seeking a full-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry. The Coordinator must be a Catholic possessing an active faith in good standing with the Church, with the ability to translate this faith into action for others by promoting Christian values and growth in holiness responding to the spiritual and social needs of the youth in our Parish. This position’s focus is on preparation, coordination, and implementation of a Team Ministry approach according to Archdiocesan and Parish guidelines. All is done in collaborative efforts with the Pastor, Director of Religious Education, and all CCE staff, Catechists, and volunteers to build a solid foundation and understanding of the Catholic Faith.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
· Catechesis
--Coordinate a Catechetical Program for youth to support the total education program of the parish for Confirmation Preparation and for Post-Confirmation
--Work collaboratively with education ministers and others to implement faith formation programs
--Utilize the Archdiocesan Guideline for Life Long Catechesis as a guide and measure of catechesis
--Understand current catechetical theories and methods
--Promote and support the Parish Mission: “One Faith, One Family, One Mission” in all catechetical and youth educational programs
--Collaborate with parish clergy to encourage youth participation in the sacraments especially Holy Eucharist and sacrament of reconciliation
· Service
--Identify areas for service in the parish and wider community, especially areas of social concerns and community worship
· Retreat Ministry
--Foster growth in prayer for the youth of the parish by creating opportunities for prayer groups, prayer experiences, liturgies
--Develop a variety of retreats on a yearly basis as part of an effort to meet the spiritual needs of youth (e.g., ranging in length from two hours to several days, from retreats dedicated to fun-filled community building to those of more spiritual depth)
--Organize annual participation in the Archdiocese Junior High Youth Rally
--Support and participate in archdiocesan-sponsored retreats, conventions, and other appropriate meetings
· Leadership Development
--Recruit, train, support and supervise adult youth ministry staff and workers
--Develop a parish youth leadership team for the purpose of assessing needs and planning
--Provide leadership training for youth leadership team
--Utilize the different techniques of leadership development such as consensus, decision making, conflict resolution, and group dynamics and practices used in group facilitation
--Identify appropriate leadership qualities for a particular role and to call forth those individuals with the gifts necessary for that role
· Evangelization and Community Relations
--Spend sufficient time with youth to develop rapport following Safe Environment Policies
--Formulate and present to parish community a total vision of youth ministry at appropriate times and places
· Other Responsibilities
--Meet as needed with the youth leadership team to collaborate in long-range planning for an evaluation of youth ministry
--Communicate policies, guidelines, procedures and other information for all parties involved (staff and those volunteering in youth ministry)
--Maintain a healthy and growing personal spiritual life and lead others to do the same
--Ensure individuals with special needs have appropriate accommodations and curriculum
--Attend staff meetings
--Prepare and monitor budget relative to areas coordinated and related documentation (purchase orders, check requests, etc.) in accordance with parish policies and procedures
--Ensure all parish and Archdiocesan forms are completed and maintained
--Ensure needed space and other resources are available in accordance with facility scheduling policies
--Maintain accurate records- attendance, volunteers, etc.
--Establish effective communication means
--Liaison with Archdiocesan departments as needed
--Establish progress evaluation methods
· Knowledge and Competencies
--Understand the scriptural and theological foundations of evangelization, including concepts such as revelation, discipleship and conversion
--Utilize relational and communication skills and techniques to create community with youth following Safe Environment Policies.
--Assess and utilize the family, social, cultural and global trends and concerns in developing a ministry with youth
--Utilize effective communication skills in all aspects of ministry
--Understand the theological and psychological foundations for youth retreats; principles, models, methods, and skills for designing retreats developmentally appropriate to age levels
--Utilize proper liturgical process to design, implement and coordinate youth liturgies, prayer services, and worship experiences
--Understand the impact of adolescent psychological development and social growth
--Develop justice and peace education and action programming for youth
--Understand strategic planning
--Implement diverse learning practices in appropriate learning situations, such as parent meetings, volunteer training, workshops, and leadership training
--Commit to continuing professional education toward ministry
--Utilize available technology
Requirements and Experience:
--Must be an active Catholic in good standing with the Church and an active visible member of a parish community
--College graduate with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in theology, religious education, religious studies, or youth ministry or related area required
--Minimum of two years of parish catechetical experience
--Must be well versed in Catholic teachings and theology
--Must have excellent organization and communication skills
--Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint software
--Must have the demonstrated abilities to motivate and dialogue with youth and parents
--Must have the demonstrated abilities to work effectively in teams and other staff members
--Must be current in Safe Environment training compliance or must obtain confirmation that the training has been successfully completed within 30 days of their hire date

Full-time Facilities Manager
Summary
Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City, TX, seeks a full-time (40 hours per week) FACILITIES MANAGER. The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Holy Family’s building’s operations, ensuring its functionality, safety, and cleanliness by managing maintenance, repairs, security, cleaning, utilities, and space allocation, while also coordinating with contractors and supervising facility staff to maintain compliance with regulations and optimize the working environment for occupants. This position will report directly to the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and Business Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), maintenance procedures, and facility management best practices. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook/email; experience with Adobe Acrobat and database software a plus.
Leadership and Management:
Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage priorities. Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated sound work ethic and sense of responsibility.
Problem-Solving:
Identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions to facility challenges. Ability to work under pressure and handle situations with tact and professionalism. Must have a clear understanding of acceptable business practices in relationship to church teachings as well as conceptualizing administrative and managerial work as a ministry.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication in English to interact with staff, contractors, vendors, clients, and volunteers such as on the Building & Grounds Committee. Connect and collaborate with Archdiocesan facilities and risk management offices. Develop and maintain relationships with facilities membership organizations and attend facilities conference as needed by Pastor. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Educational Experience:
Applicants must be at least 25 years of age with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a related field.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintenance and Repairs:
Plan and execute routine maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs with contractors, inspect facilities for potential issues, and oversee preventative maintenance programs. Maintain maintenance and inspection records. Oversee management of phone systems, computers, internet systems, and other business machines.
Safety and Compliance:
Conduct safety inspections, enforce safety regulations, manage emergency response procedures, and ensure compliance with building codes and relevant standards.
Space Management:
Allocate spaces efficiently, manage room assignments, and oversee room reconfigurations as needed.
Vendor Management:
Identify and manage approved contracts with vendors for cleaning services, maintenance providers, and other facility-related services.
Staff Supervision:
Lead and supervise a team of facilities staff, including maintenance technicians, cleaners, housekeeper, and security personnel when needed.
Capital Projects:
Manage large-scale renovation projects, including planning and contractor oversight.
Sustainability Initiatives:
Implement environmentally friendly practices and energy efficiency measures within the facility
Physical Demands and Work Environment
–Lifting of weight up to 50 lbs.
–Valid Texas Driver’s License
–Complete Safe Environment compliance training within the first 30 days of employment
–Pass a background check as determined by the Archdiocese
–Able to walk and stand prolonged hours as required
–Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed, which includes evenings and weekends
–Must be available and on call for emergencies
–Attend monthly staff meetings and manage monthly Buildings & Grounds Committee meetings
–General office environment and on some occasions working outside in various temperatures and weather conditions
Scope of Position
Exempt, year-round, full-time position. It is understood that the hours will be set to serve the needs of the Parish. The Office is closed on Archdiocesan holidays.
