Wedding Coordinators
Our Commitment:
To provide comfort and ease to the bride, groom, and their families by assisting with the coordination of the wedding rehearsal and ceremony within our parish.
What We Do:
A wedding coordinator helps lead the rehearsal on the night before the wedding, which involves walking through processions and the liturgy, as well as answering any questions the couple and/or the wedding party may have regarding the Holy Mass.
On the day of the wedding, the wedding coordinator will assist in the set-up, which may include setting the altar, making special arrangements needed in the church (i.e. delivery and placement of flowers), greeting of family and guests, handing out programs, and gathering the bridal party in place and instructing them when to walk down the aisle.
We ensure that the wedding ceremony flows smoothly allowing this day to be special and memorable to the newlyweds.
Time & Training:
Each person in this group participates in three to four weddings per year. The time commitment includes the Wedding Rehearsal, typically held on a Friday evening, and the day of the wedding for approximately three to four hours. Training includes an orientation with main coordinator or shadowing a current wedding coordinator.
Requirements:
- Must have flexible hours to be available before, during, and after an assigned wedding ceremony
- All members must complete the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training for Adults
