Filipino Community
Our Commitment:
The Filipino Community at Holy Family strives to bring together parishioners of Filipino descent to create a strong community united in serving God by being involved in Holy Family Church’s programs, projects, and ministries.
What We Do:
- Encourage Filipino parishioners to actively participate in the life of Holy Family Church through different ministries
- Preserve and showcase unique Filipino values and traditions through cultural and religious celebrations such as the Simbang Gabi during Advent
- Provide assistance to other Filipinos here in the U.S. and in the Philippines, especially in times of disaster
- Coordinate the annual health fair , which provides free health screenings, health education, and awareness services
- Coordinate the annual flu clinic
- Participate in the annual Fall Festival, and assist in other fundraising efforts of the parish
- Sponsor, at least, one fundraising dinner/dance yearly
- Participate in the Festival of Ministries, usually held during the last weekend of August
- Collaborate with the Jesus the Black Nazarene Ministry in several activities and projects
- Sponsor one scholar yearly to the permanent diaconate formation school
Time & Training:
- Meetings are usually held, at least, six times per year, and is dependent on the activities the ministry will be involved in
Requirements:
- Desire to connect with other fellow Filipino parishioners
- Open to parishioners of Filipino descent
- Adults members must complete the archdiocesan Safe Environment Training for Adults
