Our Commitment:
The Holy Family’s ACTS Apostolate started in August 2014. Since then the hearts of many men and women of our parish have been enkindled with the Holy Spirit inspiring them to be actively involved in serving our parish in various capacities. We are group of adult men and women devoted to discovering new ways to live with the Holy Spirit, become true Christian men/women and live richer and more meaningful lives. Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are the guides for the ACTS Retreats.
What We Do:
Talks and activities during the retreat focus on Adoration, Community, Theology and Service, from which the ACTS program acronym is derived:
ADORATION and daily prayer;
COMMUNITY as a member of the Body of Christ;
THEOLOGY through the study of Holy Scriptures and the teachings of the Catholic Church; and
SERVICE with emphasis on the virtue of service to our Lord, to our Church, and to one another.
The ACTS retreat has become a parish weekend retreat patterned after the description of the early Church in the Acts of the Apostles (2:42-47); breaking bread together, worshipping together, receiving instruction together, sharing in common, and reaching out in loving service. This Retreat is designed to strengthen your Catholic faith and community by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and gives you the chance to spend time with God, focus on your faith, and cultivate friendships. An ACTS retreat is a three-day and three-night Catholic lay retreat presented by fellow parishioners. Retreats for men and women are given separately and are offered in English and Spanish.
