Eucharistic Ministry to the Homebound
Our Commitment:
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Homebound are members of the laity who have been commissioned by the Archbishop to assist in the distribution of Holy Communion to those who, through age or infirmity, cannot attend Holy Mass.
What We Do:
On a weekly basis, members of this ministry visit parishioners who can no longer leave their home or who reside in a retirement center or healthcare facility within our parish boundaries, distributing to them the Most Precious Body of Christ, reminding them that they are not alone and that God loves them. After the required training, members will be matched with someone who needs them.
Time & Training:
- Commit to a couple of hours weekly
- All members must complete the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training for Adults
- Attend training for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
- Meet with the pastor
- Meet with ministry coordinator for additional ministry-specific training for the sick/homebound
Requirements:
- Complete required training as outlined above
- Commit to visiting assigned parishioners on a weekly basis

Members show great compassion, dependability, maturity as well as reverence for the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
