Penance & Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation (Confession)

Jesus breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” John 20:22-23

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing in which sins committed after Baptism are forgiven. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches, those who approach the sacrament to confess their sins obtain pardon from God and at the same time are reconciled with the Church. (see CCC 1422)

Confessions are heard every Saturday from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm in the Chapel, on First Fridays from 9:15 am to 10:15 am in the Chapel, or by appointment with a priest.

A communal Penance service is held each season of Advent and Lent. Several priests are available at these services for individual confessions.
